Jamalpur (जमालपुर) is a village in Mirzapur district in Indian state of Uttarpradesh. It is situated in remote area of Uttar Pradesh and approximately 330 km from state capital Lucknow. Jamalpur is locally known for its political, social and economical importance. It is block village of nearly 120 villages. There are government hospital, government primary schools donated by Jaiswal's (Rai Bahadur Rai Sahab Laxmi Narayan Jaiswal) Family. The Post office (still situated in the house of Jaiswal's) and an area famous Sri mati Deokali Inter College which is also known as Prem kali between the youngsters. There is also one school for special training for girls for free; run by Dr. Girish Jaiswal (son Of Dr. Prof.Raja Ram Shastri). Jamalpur is the most developed block in Mirzapur district & the most developed village in the block itself, almost half of the market land is belongs to Jaiswal's family only; they have contributed their best to make developed this area. == Geography == Nearest city to Jamalpur is Varanasi where good students go for further studies as educational infrastructure in Jamalpur is good.
